You must love green, O Lord,
It must make You glad!
Does it thrill Your sight to bring the light
on a world so dark and sad
and raise the morning on green
in every shade and hue?
You spoke the word, all things heard
And glorious green came through.
(My dear friend, Annie, gave me this little basket-bowl for my birthday. She makes them with pine needles! And she sells them here.)
(This beautiful eye belongs to my little-sister-in-spirit, Avery Jade. And there’s another one just as pretty on the other side of her nose! : D )
All these pictures were taken on October 22nd and 23rd.
Winter is coming! But we’ll still have green- in Avery’s eyes, in the Christmas tree, in the collard greens, in the greenhouse (surely!) and even in the ground there will be green inside the bulbs, waiting for it’s time.
But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever. I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints. Psalm 52:8-9
